Philippians Chapter 2: Verses 12-13 (NIV)
Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfil his good purpose.
We need to conduct ourselves as ambassadors for Christ at all times, regardless of who’s watching (or even who’s not.) God is always watching us and its Him we seek to please. How often have we observed someone do something unexpected, be it good, bad, or sometimes just plain funny, when they think that nobody’s watching?
If we allow God to outwork His will in us, it won’t matter if what we do is seen or unseen by anyone else, because its God who gives us the desire to do what pleases Him. As long as it pleases Him we don’t need to worry about whether it pleases anyone else.
Dear Lord,
I thank You that You promise to give me the will and strength to do what pleases You. Help me to remember that this is really the most important thing. I ask in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
