2 Corinthians chapter 12 verse 10 (NIV)
That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
I take delight in many things, but I confess that I can rarely take delight in the list of things that Paul lists here. But I should. The reason Paul does is the same reason that I should – for Christ’s sake. Not for mine, but His. He endured the worst thing possible for my sake. Persecution, death and separation from the Father.
He knows all my weaknesses. That’s why He sent the Holy Spirit to guide us. That leaves me without excuse. Food for thought indeed.
Dear Lord,
I ask for Your forgiveness for the times I throw myself a pity party. Help me to trust and rely on my Comforter and Guide, the Holy Spirit. I ask in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
