12 March 2025 – What have I learned today?
Psalm 33 verses 10-11 (NIV)
The LORD foils the plans of the nations;
he thwarts the purposes of the peoples.
But the plans of the LORD stand firm forever the purposes of his heart through all generations.
In the current world political climate, things are in turmoil with some heads of government at loggerheads with each other. I have heard some people expressing anxiety as to how this may pan out. But we need to remember who is in ultimate control. That will never change, no matter how things appear at first glance. I find these verses to be so reassuring at this time of uncertainty. When we get the opportunity, we should use these verses to encourage and support others who are fearful at what may lie ahead. It has also brought back to memory the chorus of this old gospel song, “God is still on the Throne.”
“God is still on the throne,
And He will remember His own;
Though trials may press us and burdens distress us,
He never will leave us alone;
God is still on the throne,
He never forsaketh His own;
His promise is true, He will not forget you,
God is still on the throne.”
Dear Lord,
Thank You for the reminder that You are still in control, no matter how things appear, or how people make their own plans. Help me to hold on to these facts and to share them with those who need to hear that when I get the opportunity. I ask in Jesus’ Name. Amen.Psalm 33 verses 10-11 (NIV)
