Ecclesiastes Chapter 7: Verses 13-14 (NLT)
Accept the way God does things, for who can straighten what he has made crooked? Enjoy prosperity while you can, but when hard times strike, realize that both come from God. Remember that nothing is certain in this life.
We all respond differently when circumstances come upon us, be they good or bad. What we don’t always remember is that it is God who works out His plan for our lives. We need to praise Him when things are going well for us, but also, and sometimes more importantly, when they’re not. Often in trying times we are quick to cry out, “Why, God?” or “Where are You, God?” He is still in control, but we need to learn to tune in to what He’s doing in our lives, and what He wants us to learn from the circumstances we find ourselves in. We must be prepared to stick with God in the bad times as well as the good ones. But at the end of the day, the only thing we can be certain of is that God is with us through everything.
Dear Lord,
Help me to remember that no matter what circumstances may cross my path, You are always in control and You will walk with me. Help me to take Your hand and trust You, even if I don’t know how things are going to work out, because You do know. Most of all, thank You that I never have to face difficult times without You. Amen.
