14 February 2026 – What have I learned today?

Exodus chapter 15 verse 20 (NIV)

Then Miriam the prophet, Aaron’s sister, took a timbrel in her hand, and all the women followed her, with timbrels and dancing.

Aaron, Miriam and Moses, brought up by Godly parents. Moses led the people of God, Aaron was his spokesman, and Miriam was a prophet. This description of Miriam could be so easily missed. It’s almost as if it’s just slipped in there. Even this early in world history, we see that God has a place for women in ministry. Miriam was brought up in slavery in Egypt but it would seem that her ministry as a prophet must have been established before the exodus. It shows us that God can use anyone He chooses, and even in the most difficult of places.

Dear Lord,

Thank You for the example sent by Godly parents, Amram and Jochebed. Help me to set the right example to the young people, both of age, and of faith who cross my path. I ask in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
