Galatians Chapter 1: Verse 10 (NIV)
Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.
Who are we trying to please? Of course, there are people who we should try to please. At work or at home when we have a job to do, it’s right to do it to the best of our ability, but there is a difference in doing something simply to win someone’s approval.
We may want to make our family and friends proud of us but we need to be careful of our motives, and as Paul says, its God’s approval we want, no matter what anyone else thinks.
Dear Lord,
Help me remember that the way to win Your approval is to do what You ask. That’s all that You require of me. Thank You. Amen.
