15 February 2026 – What have I learned today?

Exodus chapter 17 verse 14 (NIV)

Then the LORD said to Moses, “Write this on a scroll as something to be remembered and make sure that Joshua hears it, because I will completely blot out the name of Amalek from under heaven.”

God may speak to us with a promise, or about a calling or work that He has for us to do, but that doesn’t mean that He will carry it out straight away. God spoke to Moses in the early days of the exodus, and told him to make sure that Joshua heard what was promised. Yet it would be forty years before Joshua would take over leadership from Moses, and longer still before the promise would be fulfilled. However God wanted Joshua to hear that promise and to hold on to it. He wants us to hold on and trust every promise He has given us, even if we have not yet seen them all outworked.

Dear Lord,

Help me to be like Mary and treasure Your promises in my heart, pondering on them often, and trusting Your timing. I ask in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
