John Chapter 8 verses 31-32 (NIV)
To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
What struck me about these verses was that Jesus was talking to those who believed in Him. It’s a reminder to those of us who are followers of Jesus not to become complacent. He tells us to hold to His teaching. That means hold tight and not let go. Jesus teaching can be trusted, and if we do so the truth of what He says will speak for itself. What a promise! So let’s hold on and not let go.
Dear Lord,
Thank you once again that Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. May I hold fast to Him and His teaching as He holds on to me. I ask in Jesus’ name. Amen.
