16 June 2025 – What have I learned today?

Acts chapter 10 verses 23-24 (NIV)

The next day Peter started out with them, and some of the believers from Joppa went along. The following day he arrived in Caesarea. Cornelius was expecting them and had called together his relatives and close friends.

Cornelius was a relatively new believer, but he was hungry for the things of God. In faith, and in obedience to the vision he’d seen, he sent for Peter. His faith was such that he didn’t doubt that Peter would come. He even gathered all his family and friends together in anticipation of Peter’s arrival.

This is a lesson for us. When God speaks, we too should be quick to respond, and if we have to wait to see the outworking of what God has said, then we should have the same sense of anticipation as Cornelius, and look forward with joy to the fulfilment of God’s word.

Dear Lord,

May I exercise the same measure of faith as Cornelius in acting on Your word, and share the joy of seeing You move in response to obedience. I ask in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
