Galatians Chapter 2: Verse 14 (NIV)

When I saw that they were not acting in line with the truth of the gospel, I said to Cephas in front of them all, “You are a Jew, yet you live like a Gentile and not like a Jew. How is it, then, that you force Gentiles to follow Jewish customs?

Peter was a leader in the church. He had been restored and forgiven for his denial of Jesus and he became bolder and stronger after his baptism in the Holy Spirit, but he still made mistakes and needed to be corrected. Paul was not afraid to do so, even although in the eyes of some others, he was subordinate to Peter, but this was not so.

We all need correcting sometimes, and it is good when someone takes the time to wisely do so. We should never be put off by our perception of someone’s status if we feel we need to draw their attention to something they have done wrong. And if we too need to be corrected, we would be wise to pay heed.

Dear Lord,

I appreciate those who have taken the time to correct me. Help me never to ignore correction but also not be afraid to be used by You to correct someone else. I ask in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
