Psalm 62 verses 11-12 (NIV)
One thing God has spoken,
two things I have heard:
“Power belongs to you, God,
and with you, Lord, is unfailing love”;
and, “You reward everyone
according to what they have done.”
These two verses are a reminder that God doesn’t need flowery words, but when He speaks, we need to listen. David tells us that God has both power and love for us. What more do we need to live as God intends for us. God’s power will give us all that we need to do to carry out the work He wants us to do, and we are daily reminded of His love for us in Christ. That is intended to encourage us in our obedience. Yet we are also reminded that God is also no man’s debtor. If we are obedient to Him we are rewarded with His blessing. God is good to those who love Him.
Dear Lord,
May my ear be tuned in to hear what You have to say, and my heart soft enough to be willing and obedient to do as You say. I ask in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
