Luke chapter 2 verse 15 (NIV)
When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.”
Luke Christmas challenge day 2. The shepherds had had a once in a lifetime experience. One, in fact, that no one else is likely to have before Jesus returns. I’m sure they could have sat round the fire and talked about it for hours, but they didn’t. Instead they took the angel’s word and went off to find the promised Saviour. Then after they did, they told anyone who would listen! How many Christians, including me, have spent a wonderful time in a service or meeting where we have known a particular anointing or blessing from the Lord, perhaps accompanied by a calling or instruction? When that service or meeting is over we have a choice don’t we? We can spend a lot of time thinking about how wonderful it was, and reminding ourselves how great it was, or we can be like the shepherds and act on what we heard. It will change not just our lives, but also those who cross our path. After all, the shepherds found Jesus, and then told everyone that they met that they’d seen him!
Dear Lord,
Help me not just to rejoice in a good meeting, but also to do what You say. I ask in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
