Hebrews chapter 4 verse 2 ( NIV)
For we also have had the good news proclaimed to us, just as they did; but the message they heard was of no value to them, because they did not share the faith of those who obeyed.
As I pondered on this verse it got me thinking about the messages we hear at church. Just as some people don’t respond to the message of salvation because they don’t apply it to their lives, is the message we hear of any value to us if we don’t apply it to our lives?
We might hear a message that is very powerful but no matter how powerful it is, it is of no value unless we take it on board.
How fortunate and blessed we are to hear God’s word ministered to us so freely, but let’s make sure we don’t neglect what we’re told.
Dear Lord,
I know Your word is life changing when we correctly apply it to our lives. May I do so faithfully. I ask in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
