21 November 2025 – What have I learned today?

Psalm 130 verse 4 (NIV)

But with you there is forgiveness,

so that we can, with reverence, serve you.

This is a reminder from the psalmist that having been forgiven much, we shouldn’t feel that we can do as we please. That forgiveness was paid for at great cost. If we truly appreciate what we have received then how can we not want to serve the Lord with the reverence that He is due.

If someone takes the gift of salvation lightly, that’s when they don’t fully understand what is offered to them.

The verse prior to this one also reminds us that when we receive God’s forgiveness, He keeps no record of our wrongs. But when we receive His forgiveness, then part of our service to God is also to do the same for others, keeping no tally of the wrongs that have been done to us.

Dear Lord,

Thank You for not keeping a record of the wrongs for which I’ve been forgiven. Help me to stop going back to that list in my own heart, and also to get rid of the list of things that may have been done to me. This is part of my reverent service to You. I ask in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
