Psalm 25: Verse 14 (NIV Anglicised version)
The Lord confides in those who fear him;
He makes his covenant known to them.
The NIV translation of the first half of this verse says, “the LORD is a friend to those who fear Him.”
If we are fortunate in life we have the blessing of a good friend that we can confide in, because we can trust them to listen to the really important things we want to share. So to think that God wants that close a relationship with us that He would choose to confide in us is amazing for us to grasp. Our relationship with God is always meant to be a two-way one. But we need to play our part in cultivating that relationship and that includes giving God the respect and love that He is due.
Dear Lord,
What an amazing thought that You want to confide in me as friend to friend. Help me then to make the time to spend the time with You as I should with a friend who loves me.
