Isaiah 55: Verses 6-9 (NIV)
Seek the LORD while he may be found; call on him while he is near.
Let the wicked forsake their ways and the unrighteous their thoughts. Let them turn to the LORD, and he will have mercy on them, and to our God, for he will freely pardon.
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the LORD.
“As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.
When we get to know someone really well, especially when we’ve known them for a long time, we’re sometimes able to tell what they’re thinking and what makes them “tick”. But with God, His ways and thoughts are always higher than ours. We can’t second guess God. He, however, knows all of our thoughts and ways. If we take the time to spend with Him though, He does want to share the plans He has for us. What a privilege it is that God is willing to reveal things to us.
He can only do that if we take the time to seek Him out and spend time with Him. And its especially important that if God takes the time to speak to us, that we pay attention to what He says and act on it!
Dear Lord,
Thank You that You want me to make the time to seek You, so that You can reveal Your ways and plans for me. Plans which I know are good. Help me to draw near and listen. I ask in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
