24 August 2025 – What have I learned today?

1 Corinthians chapter 15 verse 58 (NIV)

Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labour in the Lord is not in vain.

Galatians chapter 6 verse 9 (NIV)

Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

Am sensing a bit of a theme in the verses that have jumped out at me over the last few days. In this verse Paul encourages the Corinthian church to stick in and not be moved from the work that God had for them to do. The same applies to us. As we have seen in the previous few days, it may seem that what we do has gone unnoticed, but Paul reminds us that nothing we do for the Lord is done in vain. But we also need to follow the counsel that Paul gave to the Galatians and not become weary in doing good. After all, we too will reap a harvest if we don’t give up!

Dear Lord,

Thank  You for the encouragement given by Paul. Help me to keep focused and not become weary. Thank You that there will always be an opportunity for a harvest when the time is right. Amen.
