Proverbs chapter 18 verse 16 (NIV)
A gift opens the way
and ushers the giver into the presence of the great.
This verse really struck me today. It spoke to me about the reality of what Jesus’ gift of life has done for us.
We could not bring God a gift. There is nothing we could bring of ourselves that would be acceptable to God. But Jesus’ gift makes it possible for us to do what we could never do for ourselves. The blood of Jesus’ sacrifice covers us and ushers us into the very presence of God. What a gift!
Dear Lord,
Once again I thank You for the indescribable gift that allows me, a sinner saved by grace, to approach the very throne of God. Amen.
