2 Corinthians chapter 2 verse 9 (NIV)
Another reason I wrote you was to see if you would stand the test and be obedient in everything.
Nobody likes a time of trial and testing. But nothing is accidental in God’s plan for our lives. That means that He can test us to see if we will stand firm in our faith, and even in such a time, if we will be obedient to His will. God is righteous and holy. He expects obedience, and just because we are struggling, doesn’t give us the right to do our own thing. Such circumstances tend to either make us turn away from God, or drive us even closer. Sadly, many people get so caught up in blaming God, that they deny themselves the much needed comfort that is found in His presence. Those who take refuge in Him at such times will come out stronger in their faith.
Dear Lord,
Help me to be obedient, even in times of testing, and to avail myself of the comfort that only You can give. I ask in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
