2 Chronicles chapter 32 verse 1 (NIV)
After all that Hezekiah had so faithfully done, Sennacherib king of Assyria came and invaded Judah.
Hezekiah was a wise and faithful king who sought to honour and serve the Lord. Does that mean he never had any trouble or hardships? Here we can quite clearly see that this was not in fact the case.
This verse is a reminder to all of us that suffering hardship or trial does not necessarily mean that we have done anything wrong. But, as Hezekiah did, we must still faithfully do our best to follow God’s directions in spite of our circumstances.
Dear Lord,
I pray that I might be able to be like Hezekiah in these circumstances and be able to put my trust wholly on You regardless of my circumstances. I pray in Jesus’ Name. AMEN.
