Psalm 78 verses 38-39 (NIV)
Yet he was merciful;
he forgave their iniquities
and did not destroy them.
Time after time he restrained his anger
and did not stir up his full wrath.
He remembered that they were but flesh,
a passing breeze that does not return.
Yesterday, I was reminded of the grace and mercy that comes from the ‘yet’ that we read of in Psalm 78. Today in this portion of the Psalm we see another example.
But I think we maybe also see why. God knows us inside and out. He knows everything about us; there is nothing that takes Him by surprise. So now I add my own ‘yet’ which explains things, even though it’s too wonderful for us to understand. Yet, He loves us! So how can we not love Him?

Today there are no words, just a full and thankful heart for every ‘yet’. Amen.
