Nahum chapter 1 verse 7 (NIV)
The LORD is good,
a refuge in times of trouble.
He cares for those who trust in him…
There are two things we learn from this verse.
1. God is good and we can take refuge in Him.
2. He cares for those who trust Him.
And it will be evident if we trust Him, because we will run to Him for the refuge that He offers us. When times of trial and testing come to us, we need to make that choice. Try and weather the storm in our own strength and end up floundering; get so caught up in the circumstances that we find ourselves taking our eyes off God, or go running into the refuge that God offers us.
The verse also reminds us that God is good, so why would we not take advantage of the refuge that He offers us.
Dear Lord,
Thank You that You show us Your mercy and compassion in every circumstance. You provide for us in good times but also the difficult ones. How great is our God! Amen.
