Psalm 38 verse 15 (niV ANglicised version)
Lord, I wait for you;
You will answer, Lord my God.
We’re not always good at waiting, at least I’m not! But if we really want to know God’s mind on an issue, we should wait- because He will answer. There could be a number of reasons why we have to wait-
Are we really serious about the matter? Sometimes God will allow a “cooling off” period to see if we are. Sometimes its not the right time to go ahead with the answer we have brought before God, and sometimes its us who are not ready.
And when God does answer, it might not be the response we want to hear. But if we dismiss it because we don’t like it, that’s not the right attitude. It will still be the answer we need to hear, whether we like it or not!
Dear Lord,
Thank You that You always answer when I pray. Help me to be open to hear Your response, and to act on what You say, even if its not what I want to hear. I ask in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
