Revelation Chapter 22: Verse 6 (NIV)
The angel said to me, “These words are trustworthy and true. The Lord, the God who inspires the prophets, sent his angel to show his servants the things that must soon take place.”
Revelation chapter 22: verses 10 – 11 (NIV)
Then he told me, “Do not seal up the words of the prophecy of this scroll, because the time is near. Let the one who does wrong continue to do wrong; let the vile person continue to be vile; let the one who does right continue to do right; and let the holy person continue to be holy.”
So the second year of my formal blog has been completed, and there are two full years of written notes prior to that when I first set out to prove that God could speak to us daily through His word. Its appropriate therefore that the final chapter of Revelation sums up why – God’s Word in its entirety is trustworthy and true. Why? Verse 6 tells us that it is God-inspired and that’s why we can trust it to continue to speak to us as we head in to another year.
Verses 10-11 tells us how to approach another year – keep going on in the way God intends us to; continue to do right and continue to seek to be holy as God Himself is holy. If we do that, we can hopefully change part of the angel’s counsel. By being a good ambassador and servant of God, we can hopefully point those who do wrong and don’t follow God’s ways, to the One who dies so that we can be changed. All is not lost and we have God’s promises to prove it. Onward then, with the Lord into what the next year holds. The reassuring thing is, He knows all about it and won’t ever be taken by surprise.
Dear Lord,
Thank You for everything You have done in 2024 and for all You have taught me. Help me to apply all of these lessons to my life and to grow from what I have learned in the year that lies ahead. Thank You for Your love, grace and kindness to me. Help me to show the same to others in the year ahead that will point them to the One who came to bring us life, and that more abundantly. In Jesus’ Name I pray. Amen.
