4 September 2025 – What have I learned today

2 Corinthians chapter 7 verse 10 (NIV) Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death.

As Christians we are all too aware that although we are being changed, we are not yet perfect, and won’t be until Christ returns. But we can take comfort that when we mess things up we can turn once more to God with a repentant heart and receive forgiveness. If we accept that forgiveness then there is no place for regret, rather a determination to pick ourselves up and continue on our journey of faith with thanksgiving.

Sadly those who don’t know the hope of forgiveness through Christ may find themselves overcome with regret. Some have even chosen to end their lives. That is so terribly sad and why it is important for us to direct people to the hope of God’s forgiveness. That’s why Jesus came. That’s why He died. We also need to remember not to condemn others for their mistakes and sin. For we who know what it is to be forgiven and free from condensation have no right to point a finger, unless we are pointing someone to Jesus.

Dear Lord,

Thank You that there is no condemnation for those that are in Christ Jesus. I pray to be more compassionate to those who don’t have that assurance. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
