Matthew chapter 24 verse 12-13 (NIV)
Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.
In the 24th chapter of Matthew we read of Jesus teaching His disciples what the end times would be like. I was particularly struck by these verses. When we look at how attitudes have changed in the west towards the teaching in the Bible, especially over the past fifty years, we see how bible principles, and guidance is looked on by many with destain, and ignored so that people can do their own thing. The love of many indeed is growing cold. But those of us who have put our faith in Jesus are called to stand firm, to keep the faith and to guard our testimony, so that the light of Christ can be seen in us, and draw those cold hearts towards the warmth that comes from the love that Jesus has for them.
Dear Lord,
Thank You that You can warm up the coldest of hearts. Burn in me so that others can feel that fire and be drawn to You. I ask in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
