Jeremiah chapter 9 verse 24( NIV)
but let the one who boasts boast about this:
that they have the understanding to know me,
that I am the LORD, who exercises kindness,
justice and righteousness on earth,
for in these I delight,”
declares the LORD.
It’s amazing to think that we can gain the wisdom and understanding to know our kind, just and righteous God. As we saw yesterday, the understanding does not come from our own wisdom and understanding. It is given to us by that kind, just and righteous God. That’s why we have no reason to boast in our own supposed intellect, but rightly, in what God has done. That is indeed worth boasting about.
Dear Lord,
Often I can identify with the Apostle Paul when he said that he knew only in part but would one day know fully, just as he was fully known. Thank You for the kindness that leads us to repentance and brings us to You. Amen.
