6 December 2025 – What have I learned today?

Luke Chapter 6 verses 12-13 (NIV)

One of those days Jesus went out to a mountainside to pray, and spent the night praying to God.  When morning came, he called his disciples to him and chose twelve of them, whom he also designated apostles.

Luke Christmas challenge day 6.

Jesus had important appointments to make. Appointments that would ultimately make a difference to humanity from henceforth, so He spent the night speaking to His  Father.

That got me thinking. If Jesus consulted His Father about decisions, why do we so easily decide  to take matters into our own hands and then often rue the decisions that we make? The Lord’s brother James wrote that, “You have not because you ask not…” (James chapter 4 verse 2) We need to heed that advice. The good thing is that God’s ear is always open and ready to respond to our prayers.

Dear Lord,

Thank You that we can turn to You about any matter, big or small, nothing is too insignificant, and neither is it too hard for You. May You always be the first person I consult, knowing that You have a plan for my life. I ask in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
