7 August 2025 – What have I learned today? Psalm 92 verses 1-4 (NIV)

It is good to praise the LORD

   and make music to your name, O Most High,

 proclaiming your love in the morning

   and your faithfulness at night,

 to the music of the ten-stringed lyre

and the melody of the harp.

For you make me glad by your deeds, LORD;

   I sing for joy at what your hands have done.

As I pondered these verses I was reminded that by following David’s exhortation in these verses could change our very attitude to the things that lie ahead of us. If we take time to spend even a brief time of praise to God at the beginning of our day, it shifts the focus away from us and on to Him. In that attitude we are equipped to face what lies ahead of us with God at the centre of things. Then at night if we look back over the day we can give thanks and praise for God’s hand on our day.

Surely as Christians we can agree with David when he says ,”You make me glad by Your deeds, Lord; I sing for joy at what Your hands have done. Put simply, its another way of saying that we should count our blessings, something which I have concluded that we should do more often as it certainly puts things into perspective.

Dear Lord,

You do indeed make me glad by Your deeds . I praise and thank You for the richness of Your goodness and the faithfulness of Your hand. Amen.
