Proverbs Chapter 16 verse 20 (NIV)
Whoever gives heed to instruction prospers,
and blessed is the one who trusts in the LORD.
Proverbs Chapter 16 verse 25 (NIV)
There is a way that appears to be right,
but in the end it leads to death.
When I get a new piece of equipment, for example, a new phone, I hate having to read my way through instructions. They are not always user friendly in my opinion. So sometimes I just hope for the best. Sometimes that’s okay, but sometimes it can also lead to mistakes, which happened because I had made a wrong assumption. It could have been avoided if I had read the instructions properly.
When God gives us an instruction, He may tell us why He wants us to do something, but He may not, He doesn’t have to. He wants us to trust Him. If we do as He asks without question we will be blessed. We sometimes think we know what we’re doing when we actually don’t. Then only by His Grace, thankfully, God will lift us out of the whole we have got ourself into.
Dear Lord,
I’m grateful that You know what’s best for me. Help me never to assume that I do. I ask in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
