Proverbs Chapter 24: Verses 16-18 (NLT)
The godly may trip seven times, but they will get up again. But one disaster is enough to overthrow the wicked. Don’t rejoice when your enemies fall; don’t be happy when they stumble. For the LORD will be displeased with you and will turn his anger away from them.
We are human; there will be times when we will stumble and fall. But for those who have decided to follow the Christian life, these verses remind us that there is no place for a pity party, feeling sorry for ourselves. We need to get Back up again, and again, however many times we need to. God will always be there to help us get back on our feet. But He will not be pleased if we rub our hands when those who don’t like us, or who have mistreated us, fall on their faces, even if we think they are getting their just desserts. We need to focus on our own walk, and not be concerned with what anyone else is doing. That’s the most important thing if we want God to help us up again.
Dear Lord,
Help me to keep my focus and watch how I walk. That will help me not to stumble and fall so often, but also ensure that I’m not to busy watching what somebody else is doing. Thank You for being there for me when I do fall. Help me aways to get right back up and on the road again. I ask in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
