Luke chapter 9 verses 44-45 (NIV)
Listen carefully to what I am about to tell you: The Son of Man is going to be delivered into the hands of men.” But they did not understand what this meant. It was hidden from them, so that they did not grasp it, and they were afraid to ask him about it.
Luke Christmas challenge day 9. Jesus told His disciples to listen carefully to what He had to say. But they didn’t understand. The sad thing, at least in my opinion, was that they were afraid to ask Him about it.
The LORD doesn’t mind us asking Him questions. Mary asked the angel Gabriel how Jesus would be conceived, and he told her. Perhaps it depends on our attitude when we ask. After all we also read that if we ask with the right attitude, whatever we ask will be given to us. I wonder if the disciples’ journey through their Easter experience would have been any easier if they had asked Jesus to explain things to them?
Dear Lord,
I pray that the attitude of my heart will be right when I come before You, so that I have ears to hear, and a heart to understand. I ask in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
