Job Chapter 23: Verses 10-12 (NLT Version)
But he knows where I am going.
And when he tests me I will come out as pure as gold.
For I have stayed on God’s paths, I have followed his ways and not turned aside.
I have not departed from his commands, but have treasured his words more than daily food.
When we go on a journey to somewhere we’ve not been before we can use a sat nav, a map, or directions that we may have been given from someone who knows where we are going. In life when things get difficult, especially if we are in a situation we’ve not been in before, it can be difficult to know where we’re going.
But God knows exactly where we are going. The safest way to go is to follow His directions and He will make sure we don’t get lost. The Bible is God’s sat nav, map and directions for life. It can be totally relied upon for our journey.
Dear Lord,
I can be easily waylaid on the road. Teach me to be like Job and not turn aside from Your ways and commands because You know where I am going. Thank You for keeping me on the path of righteousness, as David said in Psalm 23. And thank You for the blessing that is Your Word in the Bible. Amen.
