Job Chapter 42- Verses 1-5 (NLT Translation)
Then Job replied to the LORD:
“I know that you can do anything, and no one can stop you.
You asked, ‘Who is this that questions my wisdom with such ignorance?’
It is I – and I was talking about things I know nothing about,
things too wonderful for me.
You said, ‘listen and I will speak!
I have questions for you,
and you must answer them.’
I had only heard about you before,
But now I have seen you with my own eyes.”
God knows what He is doing. He knows all our circumstances too and always sees the full picture, and we don’t. We’re certainly not aware of everything that’s going on in someone else’s life, do we need to be careful not to be like Job’s friends and pronounce judgement on things we know nothing about.
Its also easy to make assumptions about God when we have never sought to get to know Him. We have that amazing and wonderful opportunity open to us. When we take it, our perceptions are changed. God is so much more than we can even imagine.
We too can say like Job, “I’d only heard about you before, but now I have seen you with my own eyes.” We might not see His face but we can know His presence and His love.
Dear God,
Thank You that although You are all powerful and can do anything, You sent Jesus to redeem me so that I can have a relationship with You. This is an amazing and wonderful thing which at times is too wonderful to fully understand. I thank You for sending Jesus. May I never forget the grace extended to me, and be mindful of showing compassion and grace to others.
I ask in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
