Exodus Chapter 31: Verses 1-3. (NLT Translation)
Then the LORD said to Moses, “Look, I have specifically chosen Bezalel son of Uri, grandson of Hur, of the tribe of Judah. I have filled him with the Spirit of God, giving him great wisdom, ability and expertise in all kinds of crafts.”
When God gives us a specific job to do we can feel excited and privileged, but I for one also feel nervous, and anxious that I might not do the task as well as I would like. But if God wants us to do something, He will give us the means by which to do it. All He wants from us is the obedience to do whatever He asks. We don’t do it (or shouldn’t) in our own strength, but in God’s strength through the power of the Holy Spirit.
That should give us the confidence that God will get things done exactly as He wants them. We are simply the tools that He chooses to use.
Dear Lord,
Thank You that You never leave us unprepared when You ask us to do something for You. Help me to remember that its only through You that Your work succeeds, and never to take the credit for myself.
I ask in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
