30 June 2025 – What have I learned today?

Acts chapter 20 verses 22-24 (NIV)

And now, compelled by the Spirit, I am going to Jerusalem, not knowing what will happen to me there. I only know that in every city the Holy Spirit warns me that prison and hardships are facing me. However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me —the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.

Acts chapter 20 verse 32 (NIV)

“Now I commit you to God and to the word of his grace, which can build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified.

These verses remind me that although we may not know what lies ahead for us, God knows every last detail. Nothing takes Him by surprise. If we stay sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit, He may prepare us for what we are to face. Our aim should be the same as Paul’s. We too have a race to finish and we must do it well. That’s why it’s important that we commit our ways to the Lord, along with those of our families, so that our foundations remain solid in Christ and built up in Him, and then in the fullness of time we will receive our inheritance if we remain faithful.

Dear Lord,

I’m so grateful that my ways and times are in your hands; the best place for them to be. Help me to leave them there and continue to be directed by the Holy Spirit. I ask in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
