Romans chapter 16 verse 7 (NIV)
Greet Andronicus and Junia, my fellow Jews who have been in prison with me. They are outstanding among the apostles, and they were in Christ before I was.
The whole 16th chapter of Romans is in effect a list of commendation from Paul about people, most of whom we know little about. Paul noted their actions, but more importantly so did God, and it’s He we should be seeking to please. We might not know what made Andronicus and Junia outstanding among the apostles, but God does. It’s worth noting too that Junia is apparently a woman’s name. So let’s be wholehearted about whatever God has for us to do, because even if no one else notices, God does, and that’s all that matters.
Dear Lord,
Thank you for all those people I know who have selflessly served You without looking for recognition. They have been a blessing to me and countless others. Help me to follow in their example. I ask in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
