8 August 2025 – What have I learned today?

1 Corinthians chapter 4 verse 20 (NIV)

For the kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of power.

We’ve many of us heard the quote, “talk the talk but also walk the walk.”

It seemed like the Corinthians church at this point certainly talked the talk. But Paul saw beyond their words. Their lives and their actions did not match up with what they said. He told them that their lives had to reflect what they said. So if we say God is powerful, we must also allow Him to move powerfully in our lives, so that He is seen at work, otherwise our words mean nothing to those we speak them to. Let’s do the talking and the walking with God in our midst.

Dear Lord

I am reminded of that old chorus, “Who is like Thee, Oh Lord among the gods? Who is like Thee, Lord there is none else. You are awesome in power, doing wonders, oh God. Who is like Thee, oh God?” Help me then Lord to yield and be obedient, so that You can reveal Your power, even in my life. I ask in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
