Isaiah Chapter 8 verses 11-13 (NIV)
This is what the LORD says to me with his strong hand upon me, warning me not to follow the way of this people:“Do not call conspiracy everything this people calls a conspiracy; do not fear what they fear, and do not dread it.
The LORD Almighty is the one you are to regard as Holy, he is the one you are to fear, he is the one you are to dread.
It seems in these days of the Internet and social media that there are new conspiracy theories springing up about every aspect of our daily lives, and those who have been appointed to govern the places where we live.
When we look with only human eyes on all that’s happening in today’s world, it’s easy to become anxious or even caught up in speculation as to what might happen next.
But God told the prophet Isaiah that he was to keep his focus on God and not get caught up on the conspiracy theories of the time. The same applies to us today. God is still in control and He is the one to whom we should keep our focus. It’s right to pray for the things that we hear and see going on in the world, but we must not let them affect our walk with God. We can trust in Him.
Dear Lord,
help me to keep my eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and finisher of my faith, rather than the latest speculation on the news or social media. I ask in His Name. Amen.
