Philippians chapter 1 verses 9 – 11(NIV)
And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God.
Some people say that love is blind and can sometimes make us see things through rose coloured glasses. But we see from these verses that having the love of God in us means we can have insight and discernment to see things as God sees them and that will allow us to do and act in love as God intends us to. Much better to see clearly with God’s eyes, rather than through a pair of fancy tinted specs.
Dear Lord,
Help me to act with the wisdom and discernment that comes from You, so that I can see things the way You do and can act in the love that is Christ-like. I ask in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
