30 September 2025 – What have I learned today?

Jeremiah chapter 1 verses 4-7 (NIV)

 The word of the LORD came to me, saying, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart;

I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”

“Alas, Sovereign LORD,” I said, “I do not know how to speak; I am too young.”

But the LORD said to me, “Do not say, ‘I am too young.’ You must go to everyone I send you to and say whatever I command you.”

God assured Jeremiah that he was called for a purpose and had been intimately known before he had even been conceived. God had everything in hand, yet Jeremiah was not certain. He was concerned that he was too young and inarticulate. But God reminded him that the only thing Jeremiah had to was to be obedient. God would take care of the rest.

We may be concerned that we are too young, too old, not clever enough, or just not the right person. God would say the same to us as He did to Jeremiah. Concentrate on being obedient and He will take care of the rest.

Dear Lord,

Forgive me for overthinking things and help me to concentrate on being obedient. I ask in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
