2 October 2025 – What have I learned today?

Philippians chapter 3 verses 16-17 (NIV)

Only let us live up to what we have already attained. Join together in following my example, brothers and sisters, and just as you have us as a model, keep your eyes on those who live as we do.

Sometimes we get too comfortable with our life. In such circumstances, there is a danger of becoming complacent and losing the sharpness of our faith. I don’t think that’s the same as being content. After all, Paul said that he had learned how to be content in all circumstances. Here in the letter to the Philippians, Paul reminds the church that we must live up to what we have already attained. That means not taking our foot of the gas, or living a life of ease. We don’t retire from our spiritual life. We keep walking a step at a time.

Dear Lord,

Thank you that in our journey of faith, we can always achieve new places in You. We are never too old to press on in and deepen our knowledge and faith. Help me never to become complacent in my faith and always be full of gratitude for what Jesus has done for me. I ask in His Name. Amen.
