14 December 2025 – What have I learned today?

Luke chapter 14 verse 1 (NIV)

One Sabbath, when Jesus went to eat in the house of a prominent Pharisee, he was being carefully watched.

Luke Christmas Challenge day 14.

This verse struck a chord. It’s a reminder that if Jesus Himself was being carefully watched, often to see if He could be caught out, then so too could we be as His followers. Jesus knew men’s hearts, so He was never caught out. He lived the truth and was completely authentic. We, on the other hand, can be tempted to put a face on. But the best way we can be good witnesses for the Lord is to also be authentic, warts and all, but that means making sure that we keep short accounts with God to deal with the times where we have let Him down. His forgiveness in such circumstances is also a strong and effective witness.

Dear Lord,

Thank You for being the best example we can follow with the help of the Holy Spirit. Help me to remember the importance of being an effective witness. I ask in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
