Nehemiah chapter 3 verse 12 (NIV)
Shallum son of Hallohesh, ruler of a half-district of Jerusalem, repaired the next section with the help of his daughters.
Following on from yesterday, here we read of other women who played their part in rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem. They were willing to get stuck in, as was their father who seems to have held a position of authority. How do we respond if the Lord asks us to do something that is perhaps unexpected, or takes us out of our comfort zone? God expects us to be like Shallum’s daughters and set to wholeheartedly.
Dear Lord,
Thank You for reminding me of the need to be obedient, even if it does take me out of my comfort zone. Help me to follow the example of these women. I ask in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
