Genesis chapter 39 verses 2 – 4 (NIV)
The LORD was with Joseph so that he prospered, and he lived in the house of his Egyptian master. When his master saw that the LORD was with him and that the LORD gave him success in everything he did, Joseph found favour in his eyes and became his attendant. Potiphar put him in charge of his household, and he entrusted to his care everything he owned.
God was with Joseph in all of his difficult circumstances but He didn’t take Joseph out of these. Yet even in the midst of the hardships, Joseph prospered. And people noticed. Also even in the hardships, Joseph’s life made an impact on others.
We too can feel God with us in the midst of hardships. We may ask Him to take us out of them, and He may not. But if we walk through the difficulties trusting Him, He will use us and people will notice. How we react will impact on others. Surely, our obedience in times of hardship will bring glory to God.
Dear Lord,
Thank You for Joseph’s courage and obedience. Help me to emulate his example. I ask in Jesus’ Name. Amen
