And the words of the LORD are flawless,
like silver purified in a crucible,
like gold refined seven times. You, LORD, will keep the needy safe
and will protect us forever from the wicked,
who freely strut about
when what is vile is honored by the human race.
These verses in Psalm 12 remind me that the words and teaching of the Lord are perfect. Therefore if I hold fast to those words, He will keep me from falling. But verse eight is also a very accurate description of the current state of some of Western society. It’s a very sobering one outlining those who proudly strut around promoting and honouring what is wrong and unacceptable in the eyes of God. How many times in these days I have heard the phrase, “You do you,” which I take to mean do whatever you like. We need to stand up and honour God’s word in direct contrast to those who would honour the very opposite.
Dear Lord,
Thank You for the comfort, strength and guidance that is found in Your word. Help me to hold fast to it, and to share it with others.
I ask in Jesus’ Name. Amen
