Psalm 36 verses 1-2 (NIV)
I have a message from God in my heart
concerning the sinfulness of the wicked:
There is no fear of God
before their eyes. In their own eyes they flatter themselves
too much to detect or hate their sin.
David writes in this Psalm about something which, in my opinion, is very prevalent today.
People do their own thing. They live their own ‘truth’ and don’t like to be challenged. They don’t see their own sin, thus don’t see the need for a Saviour to deliver them from their sin. I have always felt that it’s much harder for so called ‘good’ people to come to Christ because they think they are doing OK.
We need to pray that people will recognise their need for Jesus, knowing that when they do, He will never turn them away.
Dear Lord,
I know that without You I would be lost and miserable. Help me to pray and to show compassion to those who as yet don’t even recognise their need. I ask in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
