Numbers chapter 21 verses 33 – 35 (NIV)
Then they turned and went up along the road toward Bashan , and Og king of Bashan and his whole army marched out to meet them in battle at Edrei. The LORD said to Moses, “Do not be afraid of him, for I have delivered him into your hands, along with his whole army and his land. Do to him what you did to Sihon king of the Amorites, who reigned in Heshbon.” So they struck him down, together with his sons and his whole army, leaving them no survivors. And they took possession of his land.
Sometimes those who would stand against us face us up with confidence and defiance. How do face this confidence and defiance? Are we daunted? God told Moses not to be afraid. After all it was He was in control in spite of how things looked.
That’s what God would remind us of in these turbulent times. We should face any who would oppose our faith and stand with the same trust that David had when he faced Goliath. After all, we serve the same God!
Dear Lord,
Thank You for this reminder that we are on the victory side. We can be confident in You and not rely on our own strength. Help me to remember that no matter what I come across. I ask in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
