Luke chapter 14 verse 1 (NIV)
One Sabbath, when Jesus went to eat in the house of a prominent Pharisee, he was being carefully watched.
Jesus didn’t avoid the Pharisees. He often ate with them. More often than not He was being carefully watched. Some watched to try and catch Him out. Others because they wanted to understand, and to believe that what He said was true. And it’s the reality that speaks the truth.
I recently watched the testimony of TV antique expert David Harper. He became a Christian because he carefully watched his daughter, who had made that decision. He saw her change and knew it was real.
If we live an authentic and truthful Christian life we need not worry about being carefully watched.
Dear Lord,
Help me to live an authentic life, in season and out of season that lets You be seen working in and through me. I ask in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
