Psalm 65 verses 3-4 (NIV)
When we were overwhelmed by sins,
you forgave our transgressions.
Blessed are those you choose
and bring near to live in your courts!
We are filled with the good things of your house,
of your holy temple.
It’s a dreadful thing to feel overwhelmed by our circumstances. When we are in the middle of difficult times we sometimes can’t see our way out of them. When we think we have blown it with God because of our sin, David reminds us that it’s at those times when we are at the end of our tether, that we can experience God’s grace and forgiveness.
And if we respond to that forgiveness, we can know what it is to draw near and experience the abundance and goodness of God’s House. What a blessing!
Dear Lord,
When I feel overwhelmed, help me to run in to You, my strong tower. I ask in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
